Your first progression path

Keep a builder active

Follow Citadel and building prerequisites, but upgrade the economy or support structure blocking your next useful unlock.

Protect your economy

Collect stored Blood and Credits, preserve scarce Influence, and open Backpack packs only when they solve a shortage.

Train a complete formation

Use Crimson Brutes in front, Blood Reavers second, and Shade Stalkers in the protected rear.

Send a measured march

Choose a ready hero, stay within capacity, and leave troops available for defense and other work.

Read the report and recover

Judge casualties as well as rewards, then treat wounded troops in the Sanguine Infirmary.

Research the bottleneck

Choose the branch that improves what you plan to build, train, gather, or fight next.

A useful daily loop

  • Keep construction, research, and useful training queues active.
  • Collect production before storage remains full, then spend toward planned prerequisites.
  • Review Daily Tasks and current Events before using saved resources or speedups.
  • Send world-node assignments for the resource currently limiting progress.
  • Check wounded troops, recovering heroes, protection status, and active marches.
  • Help Coven timers and review reports before repeating a battle or assignment.
  • Develop heroes and equipment as one part of the larger empire—not the only progression path.

What to remember

Everything competes for time and commitment

Builders, research slots, training queues, heroes, troops, treatment capacity, and march slots are limited. Good play means choosing which bottleneck matters now.

The guide never exposes hidden formulas or prescribes one permanent strategy. Use visible requirements, timers, reports, and outcomes to adapt your empire.

Common early mistakes

  • Upgrading only the Citadel: later Citadel levels require economy, military, research, defense, hero, and Coven support buildings.
  • Opening every pack: sealed resource packs are flexible reserves; open them when a specific shortage blocks progress.
  • Training one formation only: Brutes, Reavers, and Stalkers occupy different battle rows and work as a complete line.
  • Ignoring wounded capacity: troops beyond Infirmary capacity can become permanent losses.
  • Spending speedups immediately: wait for Coven help and use speedups on an unlock or event breakpoint.
